That number - $10 billion to solve the world's clean water crisis astounds me in comparison with the $450 billion we spend on Christmas. As a recovering over-the-top consumer, my stomach turns at our ability to ignore.
In spite of America's economic upheaval and the resulting insecurity, we should recognize our continued luxury, plenty and also the great opportunity we have to love. It is easy to love in plenty; it is challenging to love when we perceive ourselves in want. May we rise to the occasion and just love through our time, talents and yes, our monetary gifts.
