Old-Fashioned Radio Shows
We love to listen to audio books in the car. Since substantial grocery stores are 20-30 minutes away, we listen to the radio in the car quite a bit. At some point, I stumbled across this free weekly audio site. I signed up and weekly we receive an e-mail with a downloadable audio story of the week.
There are a few very memorable shows, such as Father Knows Best Christmas, Jack & the Beanstalk and Ben Franklin's shiny penny. The neatest thing about these audios are the music and voices from a time gone by. You can hear the crackling just as if you were listening to the show on an old-fashioned radio. A few stories have the advertisements included - how interesting to listen to these with a 21st century ear.
